Obsession: Pattie's cause for Poppy and the City

To all of my friends,

I would like to take a time off being Poppy Pringle and talk to everyone through this post as Pattie/Pattieta/Pat.

The very main reason for putting up this blog is to share information and help not only my friends but anyone who comes and reads my blog-- appreciate makeup/cosmetics in a way that it would help them feel more confident and good about themselves.

This post is not going to be about makeup but still intact with the main purpose and goal of this blog, "Share information and Help". I would like to ask all of you to help raise awareness on Kony2012 and for his arrest.

Kindly click on Kony2012 to pledge your support. Do not forget to watch the video to understand this concern more.

In advance, i would like to thank all of those who would pledge and invite their friends to pledge as well. I would also like to express my appreciation for all of you who share information and help through their  vanity kits-- some people may call us vain for always wanting to look decent presentable but little do they know how vanity or being vain can do a lot in sharing information and helping. I know you come here to read a post about makeup and/or a tutorial and i also know that you will pledge and help raise awareness on Kony2012

Thank you for your time.

Obsession: YSL says Hello Slimane, goodbye Pilati!

Last LFW, Raf Simons presented his final collection for Jill Sander and took his final bow as well. Heartbreaking. Now moving two weeks forward at Paris Fashion week.

YSL will have a new Creative Director by Wednesday. Apparently, Stefano Pilati's Fall 2012 collection, which received a standing ovation from U.S. Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour (read full article here) and the rest of the YSL guests during the end of the show, was already his last for the label YSL's creative director for menswear in 1996-2000 will replace Pilati-- Hedi Slimane. (via FreshnessMag).

Stefano Pilati takes his final bow for YSL

View Pilati's 2005 Spring collection for YSL here and his last collection for YSL here.

Hedi Slimane is a fashion designer/photographer. When Galliano was fired out of Dior label early last year, Slimane's name also came out in the surface together with Ricardo Tisci and Marc Jacobs among others; rrumor has it that one of them were to take over Galliano's spot as Creative Director at Fashion label Dior.

What do you guys think? is Slimane the perfect guy for the job?

Thinking if i should do a YSL runway makeup tuts? Should i go for it? later everyone.

Obsession: Laura Mercier's makeup workshop with Jeffrey Tasker

Jeffrey Tasker, who is the genius international makeup artist of Laura Mercier is coming back to Manila to do another beauty workshop. Seriously, raise whatever you are drinking!

So why don't we start counting down the weeks for yet another makeup obsessed and/or beauty junkies' MUST attend, HUGE event.

I have been a big fan of Laura Mercier ever since I were introduced to the product. It stands true to it's brand's promise of flawless skin. We all want to have a flawlessly perfect skin like when we were babies right? smooth, glowing, and blemish/acne/pimple-free; flawless in short. And I believe that a brand's relationship to it's consumer does not stop on purchase, it's begins in there. That is why, I really appreciate the efforts of the people behind Laura Mercier here in our country and those in the states when they send their experts here who works close with Laura Mercier to show and teach us how to perfectly achieve a Flawless finish face. They share thoughts of why Laura Mercier developed this certain product and what it's for. WIN.

So cross-out this date in your calendars and let us have a makeup date with Jeffrey Tasker in be-half of Laura Mercier and learn together how to create Flawlessly beautiful face using Laura Mercier makeups.

One piece of advice: make sure to purchase products on the day (or days maybe weeks before) of the event when you attend the workshop, usually they let guests ask and consult with the professional after the workshop if you're too shy to ask while he's conducting it. It's the best time to get beauty myths corrected and learn a trick or two about your Laura Mercier makeup. It's an opportunity you don't want to miss.

For more Information about the event, kindly refer to the photo posted above.

P.S. dearest Laura Mercier brand manager, asst. brand manager, marketing person and the likes; is it possible to score an interview with Jeffrey Tasker after the event? It would be awesome :)

Obsession: Fall 2012 Trend Marchesa + Laura Mercier

A dose of obsession ala Poppy.

This is definitely a must-read. It's like hitting two birds with one stone. Beauty and Fashion in one post, what more can you ask for?

Back with another series of Trend to watch out for Fall 2012.

First up, Marchesa.
Let's take a quick look of Marchesa's Fall 2011 collection.

So, i waited for the live stream of photos on the internet to see if Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig will leave me breathless this year. And so, the dynamic stunners- DID IT AGAIN. If last year's Fall collection was chic dark, this year it was the opposite and was like a continuation of the Spring 2012 design story.

Here are some photos which were taken from (i just collated). Do visit to see the full Fall 2012 collection of Marchesa (click here) or visit

Third and Second favorite

My top pick. Finale dress too!

Golden arresting designs

BEautiful intricate details

Okay. So in line with the collection-- i have set my mind to use an "Ethereal" peg for my Fall fancy engagements inspired by Marchesa's Fall 2012 show. Very simple and in three words, i am aiming for "I. LOOK. DIVINE." :)

and the biggest surprise of my life (to date) came with Marchesa's Fall 2012 collection. Apparently, it is possible to utter the words I. LOOK. DIVINE. come fall because Laura Mercier did the makeup of the models for the show. Woohooooooo! And now, my big surprise will be yours as well. Hurry and look down below.

A FACE CHART and another surprise!
INSPIRATIONMarchesa’s Fall 2012 collection found inspiration in William Adolphe Bouguereaus’ famed 1878 portrait, “A Soul Brought to Heaven.” The classically angelic figures in the painting were brought to life in the collection through frothy tulles, embroidered brocades and pleated silks.
Talia Shobrook, the lead makeup artist for the show, drew from the otherworldly etherealness of the collection to create a makeup look that was “my vision of an angel, brought to life through a luminous palette.”
FACEShobrook stated “iridescent, porcelain skin was the foundation of the look and evoked the untouched perfection of angels.”
·       Talia first moisturized the skin with Laura Mercier Mega-Moisturizer Crème·       She then applied a mixture of Laura Mercier Hydrating Foundation Primer and Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Radiance to the entire face to give it an iridescent base
·       Next, she used Laura Mercier Silk Crème Foundation to lend the skin a porcelain, marbleized look
·       Lastly, she highlighted the face with the mixture of Laura Mercier Hydrating Foundation Primer and Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Radiance to give it luminosity
LIPSTalia then “applied a cherubic lip, with a stained effect to modernize the look.”·       Talia mixed Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Merlot and Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Haute Red (NEW: Available Fall 2012) and applied to the center of the mouth
·       She then pressed in the color with her fingertips to allow the pigment to bleed outwards
EYESAccording to Shobrook, “the ethereal eye lent an incandescent glow to the entire look.”
·       Talia first applied Laura Mercier NEW Eye Canvas to the lid to set a base
·       Next, she applied the Laura Mercier Illuminating Eye Colour in Gilded Moonshine (NEW: Available Fall 2012) as a liner around the entire edge of the eye
·       Laura Mercier Center Faux Lashes were used to give the eye a rounded shape
·       Talia finished by applying several coats of Laura Mercier Full Blown Volume Lash Building Mascara

A face chart guide and a written tutorial straight from the expert Talia Shobrook.
How wonderful is this? Seriously. I am sooo looking forward of doing this over the weekend for maybe a tutorial video? I am not sure but EXCIIIITED for the weekend (trying not to think of Revalida pressure).

So that's my NYFW Fall 2012 Trend report (aware that I am two fashion weeks behind). Ill be back with some more.

Usually, first and last mentions are the special ones right? Feel free to mark out my first top pick for F/W 2012 beauty and fashion trend. Definitely, a collection to look forward to from Marchesa and beauty trend to get us all giddy and excited for Fall from Laura Mercier.
